Martin Jagodzinskis Gemälde zeichnen sich durch eine detaillierte Wiedergabe von Natur aus. Das Wolkenspiel am Himmel, das tosende Meer oder der dunkle Wald bei nächtlichem Licht sind die Akteure in den oft menschenleeren Bildern. Die Motive basieren auf genauer Beobachtung, Zeichnungen und Fotostudien während vieler Reisen ans Meer.

Jagodzinski überträgt die Motive nie 1:1 auf die Leinwand, sondern komponiert aus vielen einzelnen Elementen neue Landschaften. Der Schaum auf den Wellen des Meeres, die Gischt und die Brandung an der Küste sind dabei nahezu fotorealistisch genau wie auch die Wolkenzeichnung am Himmel. Irritierend wirkt die Farbgebung, denn das manchmal fast fluoreszierend helle Licht verleiht den Bildern eine irreale und übersinnliche Dimension. Selten treten Menschen als beobachtende Zaungäste auf, überwältigt vom Schauspiel der Natur.

Martin Jagodzinski‘s paintings are characterized by a detailed reproduction of nature. The clouds in the sky, the roaring Sea or the dark forest in the night light are the actors in the often manless pictures. The motifs are based on accurateobservations, life drawings and photo-studies during many trips to the sea.

Jagodzinski never transfers the motifs to the canvas 1: 1, he rather composes new landscapes from many different elements. The foam on the waves of the sea, the spray and the surf on the coast are almost photorealistic as well as the image of clouds drawn into the sky. Irritant is the color, because the sometimes almost fluorescent bright light endows the pictures with an irreplaceable and absurd dimension. Rarely do people appear as onlookers, overwhelmed by the spectacle of nature.
